clock of life

Another book requiring a lot of effort and frustration. I wanted to create a fold out concertina book that opened out into a clock face with pop ups. It involved a lot of maths and hundreds of tiny mock ups. I got there eventually though and managed to tie in lots of methods and media. The clock hands were made from old clock pieces that I welded together, the cover is black acrylic that I laser cut a clock pattern into, the box is made from black suede with screen printed elements. The main image consists of images of time, such as the tree of life and the snake eating it's tail. It was screen printed in lots of layers, playing with different inks and opacities to add depth.
